GPS Tracker screen
This topic provides an overview of the GPS Tracker screen and all the settings and buttons on it. However if you require step-by-step procedures on using the GPS Tracker refer to Displaying GPS Tracker and field units on the Sentinel screen.
This feature requires option E14 Sentinel. If you do not have this option this feature is not available.
The GPS Tracker screen allows you to give OSS-ESPA access to your current location. This location data is then displayed as a breadcrumb trail on the Sentinel screen where your movements can be monitored. This allows monitors to determine your position relative to a point of interest, such as a location or a suspect. It also allows them to monitor areas you and other personnel are searching, which means they can direct people to useful search areas and avoid multiple people searching the same areas.
To use the GPS Tracker you must ensure the GPS Tracker screen is open on your device, for example your phone or computer. If you are using a phone you must also ensure it doesn't lock. Once you have named your device and started the tracking, your location is updated on both the GPS Tracker and Sentinel screens every second. The only location you can view on the GPS Tracker screen is your location, however on the Sentinel screen you can select to view the location of everyone who has their GPS Tracker screen active and also GAR units configured to your OSS-ESPA account, Bluetooth GPS modems and Over-The-Air units. The device name you enter on the GPS Tracker screen is used to identify you on the Sentinel screen.
